Dances of the World began with pieces inspired by the extraordinary polyrhythms of Guinea and West Africa mixed with jazz & classical music. The music has evolved to include traditions from other cultures as well such as the tango, the waltz, Japanese percussion, Afro Cuban music and more. The ensemble has performed in various combinations in NYC at venues including St. Mark's Church, Somethin' Jazz Club, The Gershwin Hotel, Firehouse Space, Silvana and Amuse Wine Bar as well as venues outside of NYC.
Diana Wayburn (flute/cello/composition)
Spencer Hale (banjo/guitar)
Kaveh Hachtalab (percussion)
"NYC is filled with great composers who rarely get the recognition they well deserve. Ms. Wayburn is one such composer."
