The Spectral Salon explores music of Tristan Murail (b. 1954) and Hugues Dufourt (b. 1943) and Americans influenced by their attitudes towards sound and color, featuring premieres of works written for Marilyn Nonken: Richard Carrick's la touche sonore sous l'eau (2015) and Mikel Kuehn's ...blue circles streamed, like rainbows in the sky (2015) - as well as Christopher Trapani's tribute to Hank Williams, The silence of a falling star lights up a purple sky (2005), Dufourt's Meeresstille (1997), and Murail's Les travaux et les jours, written for Marilyn in 2002.
