"Immigrant Dream" World Premiere

Mexican-American composer Carlo Nicolau's recent piece Immigrant Dream was commissioned by Percussia, an innovative musical ensemble based in Queens, New York. Immigrant Dream for 2 marimbas, bass flute, viola and harp combines Mexican polyrhythms and sad melodies from the south and gulf of Mexico to create a musical-narrative hybrid that ranges from Mexico to New York.
