Xanthoria Quartet celebrates the premieres of two new string quartets by its own members with an evening of music at The Owl Music Parlor. Violinist/composer Abby Swidler's "Botanical Portraits" is an imaginative series of miniatures inspired by plants, and violist/composer Hannah Selin's "String Quartet No. 1" delves into the joy and pain of surviving a traumatic injury. Harpsichordist Benjamin Katz and vocalist/composer Lacy Rose will perform solo sets, and there may be a special surprise involving all the musicians present.
