Susie Ibarra wins the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for Music

Congratulations to Susie Ibarra, winner of the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for Music for Sky Islands, a composition inspired by the rainforests of Luzon in the Philippines. The piece premiered at the Asia Society in New York.

Susie has been a featured artist in several Composers Now initiatives, including IMPACT and a 2024 Dialogues event in collaboration with the Bronx Arts Ensemble (pictured).

We also congratulate finalists Jalalu-Kalvert Nelson and George Lewis, recipient of the 2025 Composers Now Visionary Award.
